Who we are

Redbridge Chamber of Commerce Limited is the data controller for this website. You can reach us at:

What this policy covers

This policy covers this website only. Membership sign-up, payments and member records are kept in our members portal instead. That portal runs on software built by another company. Therefore, it has its own privacy terms. Please read those before you sign up.

Similarly, our events are ticketed through Eventbrite. So, when you book an event, Eventbrite handles your booking information under its own privacy policy.

Information we collect on this website

Server logs

Our hosting company records basic technical details each time a page loads. That means your IP address, your browser type, and the page you asked for. These logs help keep the site safe and working. However, we do not use them to work out who you are.

Fonts

This website gets its fonts from Google Fonts. So your browser contacts Google each time a page loads. As a result, Google receives your IP address. Google explains what it does with that in its own privacy policy.

Information you send us

If you email or call us, we keep what you send. We do this so we can reply, and so we have a record. We do not use it for anything else. We also do not pass it to anyone outside the Chamber.

Cookies

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress may set one if you log in to run the site. However, ordinary visitors do not log in. So browsing this site should not put cookies on your device.

Links to other websites

We link to our members portal, Eventbrite, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and member businesses. Once you follow a link, you are on someone else’s website. So their privacy terms apply, not ours. We are not responsible for how they handle your information.

How long we keep information

Our hosting company keeps server logs for a short time. After that, they are deleted automatically. We keep emails and enquiries for as long as we need them. We also review them from time to time.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have rights over information we hold about you. In short, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what information we hold
  • give you a copy of it
  • correct anything that is wrong
  • delete it, in some circumstances
  • stop using it in a particular way

To make a request, please email chamber@redbridgechamber.com. We will reply within one month. There is no charge.

How to complain

Are you unhappy with how we have handled your information? Please tell us first, so we can put it right. However, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. The ICO regulates data protection in the UK. You will find their contact details on the ICO website.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the website changes. Whenever we do, we change the date at the top of this page.
