Here is your weekly commercial drivers’ travel update, which sets out changes and events that could affect your planned operations.
Moorgate – Until 18:00 on Sunday 1 March, Moorgate will have various closures in both directions at the junction of South Place. Until 16:00 tomorrow, Friday 28 February, it will be closed southbound. From 18:00 on Friday 28 February until 18:00 on Sunday 1 March, it will be closed northbound. This is due to Crossrail works.
St James’s Street – From 19:00 tomorrow, Friday 28 February, until 22:00 on Sunday 1 March, St James’s Street will be closed in both directions between Pall Mall and Piccadilly. This is due to a crane operation.
Central London – From 04:00 until 16:00 on Sunday 1 March, there will be various road closures across central London for the Big Half marathon.
From 04:00, Dock Street and Vaughan Way, Tower Bridge, East Smithfield, Limehouse Link Tunnel and Aspen Way will be closed.
From 07:00 until 12:30, The Highway, Canada Square, Westferry Road and Wapping High Street will be closed.
From 07:00 until 14:00, there will be various closures south of the river, including Tooley Street, Jamaica Road, Salter Road, Evelyn Street and the Greenwich one-way system. All remaining road closures will be removed at 15:00.
Wembley Stadium – From 15:30 until 19:00 on Sunday 1 March, Welbmey Stadium will be hosting the League Cup Final football match between Manchester City and Aston Villa, with kick off at 16:30. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected. Roads likely to be affected are the A406, A1, A40, Harrow Road, Wembley High Road and roads around the stadium.
Regent Street – From Sunday 1 until Wednesday 4 March, Regent Street will have various closures in both directions between 22:00 and 06:00 each night. On Sunday night, Regent Street will be closed between Mortimer Street and Oxford Circus. On Monday night, it will be closed between Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus. On Tuesday night, it will be closed between Piccadilly Circus and Pall Mall.
Knightsbridge – From 20:00 on Monday 2 March until 06:00 the following morning, Knightsbridge will be closed in both directions between Exhibition Road and Brompton Road for resurfacing. A signed diversion will be in place, but roads in the area are expected to be busier than usual. Plan ahead and use other routes where possible. Please visit our status updates for the latest information. These works are being carried out by Westminster City Council as part of their Local Safety Scheme programme.
Barnet A406 – From 2 March to end June 2020 one lane in each direction will be closed on the A406 at the junction with Colney Hatch Lane. Some works will require us to have two lanes closed – these will be done overnight between 22:00 and 05:00 to allow us to keep two lanes running during peak hours. This is for essential maintenance works to the bridge. Please plan ahead and check before you travel.
