The Council is developing a new Economic Growth Strategy, which will establish a vision to shape the borough’s growth over the next ten years. The strategy will aim to unlock the Borough’s potential and maximise growth across Redbridge. It will focus on developing a much stronger relationship with the rest of London, leveraging the Borough’s strengths as an excellent place to live, and harnessing the benefits of Crossrail. The Strategy will set out how the benefits of growth will be secured to create new homes, jobs and community facilities as well as ensuring local residents are able to access the skills and training needed to secure new opportunities.
A report setting out the direction of travel was endorsed by Cabinet on 13th June and we are now looking for the views of local residents, businesses and key stakeholders to inform the development of the full strategy.
We are holding an engagement event on Thursday 29th June 9.30am – 1pm at City Gates Church, 25-29 Clements Road, Ilford, IG1 1BH This event which is aimed at business representatives is part of a wider engagement programme which will run until early September. We would like to engage with a wide range of businesses, and business networks and organisations working with Redbridge businesses. Please circulate this invitation to your networks.
