Annual Prudential RideLondon weekend of cycling
The annual Prudential RideLondon weekend festival of cycling is taking place this weekend. Roads and bridges on and around the routes will be closed to traffic. Road users are advised to avoid the affected areas wherever possible.
On Saturday, the event routes are in the City and Westminster. Roads will be closed from 06:00 until 18:00
On Sunday, the event route is between east, central and southwest London and Surrey. There will be extensive road and bridge closures throughout the day; roads will be closed from 04:00 and will re-open in phases once the event has passed and it is safe to do so

Potential Tube strike
The ASLEF, RMT, Unite and TSSA unions are currently planning strike action next week, affecting London Underground. If this goes ahead, Tube services will begin to reduce from late afternoon on Wednesday 5 August. Tube journeys would need to be completed by 18:30, and we are asking customers to travel earlier where possible. There will be no Tube service at all on Thursday 6 August. All other public transport services and roads would, of course, be much busier than usual. For the most up-to-date information, please click here

Southwest and central London
From 11:00 on Saturday, there will be road closures in place while a march takes place, including Brixton Road, Kennington Park Road, Lambeth Bridge and Millbank. Roads will be re-opened when it is safe to do so.

From 12:30 until 19:30 on Sunday 2 August, the A406, Harrow Road, Wembley High Road and roads surrounding the stadium are expected to be busy, due to an event at the stadium.

From Monday 3 August until mid-August, A202 Kennington Oval will be closed eastbound. This is due to Cycle Superhighway 5 work.

From Monday 3 August until 19:00 on Friday 7 August, Pall Mall will be closed eastbound between St. James’s Square and Cockspur Street. A contraflow will be in place for the duration. In addition, Waterloo Place will be closed southbound at the junction of Charles II Street and there will be no right turn from Waterloo Place onto Pall Mall. This is due to utility works.
