Barclays Cycle Superhighway 2 in east London

Dear Customer,

I am writing to let you know that from Monday 9 February until spring 2016, we will be carrying out phased work to upgrade Barclays Cycle Superhighway 2 in east London to provide segregated cycle lanes. This is part of the Road Modernisation Plan.

The work will take place on the A11, between Aldgate and Bow roundabout. This road and those surrounding are expected to be busier than usual.

Road users

Road users are advised to avoid the area during peak hours where possible. Lane closures and turning restrictions will be in place, with parking and stopping restrictions in certain places. Cycle lanes will stay in place or be provided where feasible, although temporary closures may be necessary at times.

Public transport

Buses may be subject to delays, diverted or stop short of their normal destination. Access to Tube, Rail and DLR stations will not be affected by these works, but there may be changes to pedestrian crossings around entrances at times.

Please plan ahead and allow more time for your journey. For the latest information, visit tfl.gov.uk/cs2upgrade

Work also starts around Vauxhall Bridge to prepare for the new section construction of the Barclays Cycle Superhighway 5; there may be delays.

Yours sincerely,

Vernon Everitt
