TFL | Road Freight Bulletin Christmas 2014

Here is our special Christmas bulletin which covers the period from Thursday 18 December until our next bulletin on Thursday 8 January 2015. This bulletin sets out changes and events that could affect your planned operations. For the latest bulletin, please click here

The Congestion Charge will be suspended for a week, from Thursday 25 December until Thursday 1 January. The normal charge will apply again from Friday 2 January 2015.


From 22:30 on Thursday 18 until 05:00 on Friday 19 December, overnight works will take place on the Hammersmith Flyover. Road users are advised to use the A40 Western Avenue to avoid any disruption caused by these works.

Edgware Road

From 08:00 on Saturday 20 until 05:30 on Monday 22 December, Maida Vale will have northbound lane closures at the Blomfield Road junction for Thames Water works.

A10 High Road, Tottenham

From 08:00 on Tuesday 23 until 10:00 on Sunday 28 December, High Road (A10) will be closed from the junction of Seven Sisters Road to Ferndale Road for bridge replacement works.

Central London, Marylebone Road

From Friday 26 December until Sunday 4 January, a series of improvement works will take place along Marylebone Road and Euston Road (A501) between King’s Cross and the Westway Flyover (A10). In general, the most serious impacts will be felt westbound between Saturday 27 to Tuesday 30 December and eastbound from Wednesday 31 December to Sunday 4 January. Road users are advised to plan ahead and use alternative routes.

Central London

On Wednesday 31 December, from around 14:00, central London roads will start to close to prepare for New Year’s Eve celebrations. More closures will start from 20:00. Roads will re-open at 06:00 or when it is safe to do so. For more information, please click here

On Thursday 1 January from 06:00, road closures will be in place as London’s annual New Year’s Day Parade takes place between Piccadilly and Parliament Square. Roads are expected to re-open by 18:00. For more information, please click here
