TFL | Road Traffic Update, 17.1.2020

 

Here is your weekly commercial drivers’ travel update, which sets out changes and events that could affect your planned operations.

Road updates

Lambeth – Until 16:00 on Friday 13 March, there will be various lane restrictions on York Road at the junction of Chichely Street. This is due to the redevelopment of the Shell Centre building.

Bromley – Until 15:30 on Tuesday 31 March, Tweedy Road will be closed in both directions at the junction of Sherman Road. There will also be various lane restrictions between 20:00 and 05:00 each night from Friday 20 until Tuesday 31 March. This is due to junction improvement works. 

Soho – Until 18:00 tomorrow, Friday 17 January, Charing Cross Road will be closed northbound between Little Newport Street and Shaftesbury Avenue. This is due to utility works.  
 

Highbury – From 20:00 on Saturday 18 until 05:00 on Monday 20 January, Seven Sisters Road will be closed in both directions at the junction of Rock Street near Finsbury Park station. This is due to Network Rail bridge works.

Westminster – From 08:00 on Monday 20 January until 17:00 on Saturday 15 February, Victoria Street will be closed eastbound between Buckingham Gate and Dacre Street. This is due to roadworks.

Kew Bridge – Until Autumn 2020, Cycleway 9 construction will take place at the junction of Kew Bridge, the A205 Chiswick High Road and the A315 High Street/Kew Bridge Road. Lane closures will be in place 24 hours a day at the junction and its approaches. From 06:00 on Saturday 18 January to 18:00 on Sunday 19 January, there will be no left turn from Kew Bridge on to the A315 High Street/Kew Bridge Road. A signed diversion will be in place. 

Drivers should expect delays while travelling on the A406 on to Chiswick High Road, eastbound on the A315 High Street/Kew Bridge Road, and on Kew Bridge. If possible, consider re-timing local delivery and servicing trips to outside peak periods. Visit our Cycleway 9 travel advice page for updates.

Tunnel closures

  • A12 Green Man Tunnel will be closed in both directions from 22:00 tomorrow, Friday 17 January, until 05:00 the following morning
  • Blackwall Tunnel will be closed southbound from 01:00 until 08:00 on Sunday 19 January
  • Eltham Tunnel Kent Bound will be closed from 22:00 until 05:00 the following morning on Sunday 19 and Monday 20 January
  • A101 Rotherhithe Tunnel will be closed in both directions from 22:00 on Monday 20 January until 05:00 the following morning
