Here is your weekly commercial drivers travel update, which sets out changes and events that could affect your planned operations.

Tour of Britain

From 03:00 until 23:00 on Sunday 9 September, Regent Street St James’s (Lower Regent Street) will be closed in both directions for the Tour of Britain. In addition, from 08:00 until 20:00, Regent Street between Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus, Piccadilly from Hyde Park Corner (including Piccadilly underpass eastbound), Shaftesbury Avenue westbound, Haymarket, Pall Mall, Cockspur Street, The Mall, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall and approaches, Whitehall Place, Northumberland Avenue and the Strand will all be closed.

From 08:00 until 20:00 Waterloo Bridge and the Strand underpass northbound to Kingsway will be closed to over height vehicles (over 3.6 metres). Over height vehicles will be allowed to continue east along Stamford Street to Blackfriars Bridge.

Woolwich Ferry closure

From 6 October until late December 2018, the Woolwich Ferry will be closed while an upgrade programme is underway. During the closure, please use alternative river crossings such as the Blackwall and Rotherhithe tunnels, Tower Bridge or Dartford Crossing. These crossings are subject to a number of height / weight / width restrictions, so please check before you travel

Road closures

Hornchurch

From 21:00 until 05:00 the following morning on both Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 September, there will be various restrictions during bridge replacement works at Ardleigh Green Bridge. The A127 Southern Arterial Road will be closed in both directions from Gallows Corner to Ardleigh Green Road / Squirrels Heath Road.

Westminster

Until 18:00 on Friday 31 August, A402 Bayswater Road will be closed westbound between Inverness Terrace and Lancaster Gate. This is due to resurfacing works on behalf of Westminster City Council.

Westminster

From 21:00 on Friday 31 August until 06:00 on Monday 3 September, Bressenden Place will be closed southbound at the junction of Victoria Street. It will then be closed from approximately 21:00 until 05:00 each night from Tuesday 4 until Friday 7 September. Victoria Street Westbound at the junction of Bressenden Place will be reduced to one lane. This is due to road resurfacing works.

Farringdon

From 07:00 on Saturday 1 until 23:00 on Sunday 2 September, Fetter Lane will be closed in both directions at the junction of New Fetter Lane. This is due to filming.

A40

From 00:01 on Sunday 9 September 2018, the speed limit on the A40 will change to 40mph from Perivale to west of the Target Roundabout. This change is being made for safety reasons. Updated speed limit signs will be in place.

Tunnel closures

 

A2 hard shoulder London Bound (between Danson and Falconwood) and Hanger Lane Tunnel will be closed westbound from 22:00 on Thursday 30 August until 05:00 the following morning

 

A10 Underpass of the A406 will be closed in both directions from 23:00 on Friday 31 August until 05:00 the following morning

 

Hanger Lane Tunnel will be closed eastbound from 23:59 on Friday 31 August until 05:00 the following morning

 

Blackwall Tunnel will be closed to southbound traffic from 01:00 until 08:00 on Sunday 2 September

 

A101 Rotherhithe Tunnel will be closed in both directions from 22:00 on Monday 3 September until 05:00 the following morning
